  • Have an available and reliable internet connection

If you are interested in becoming a participant in the GeCCo 2023 competition and fulfill the above criteria, follow the steps below.

Step 1: Contact your Local Organizer (LO)

Check if your country is in the list of GeCCo organizers, find your LO contact information. LO is the GeCCo organizer near you that is capable of providing you with the essential information about the GeCCo project and explain your possibilities to participate. Get in contact with your Local Organizer in case of any questions.

If you cannot find your country in the list, contact us via email: gecco.yc@gmail.com

Step 2: Apply for GeCCo

Fill the application form. The registration of participants starts on December 12, 2022 and will be open till February 10, 2023.

Local Organizer might get in touch with you to confirm your participation in the competition. Local Organizer holds the rights to select participants for the competition and assess their suitability and motivation.

Step 3: International teams formation

At this point, you have to just wait. The GeCCo Core Team will assemble international teams. After it is done, you will receive information about your team members and can get to know each other before the competition starts. Keep in mind that there will be no 2 participants from the same country in one team, thus making the team truly international.

Step 4: Pre-case study

Just one week before the competition itself, your team will get some tasks aiming at facilitation of team building and collaboration.

Step 5: Competition

The Live Event will start on March 11, 2023, at 12:00 pm (GMT 0 – London time). From this point, your team will receive the case study and all the tasks. You will have 24 hours to do the case study. During the Live event you will have an opportunity to listen to insights from invited Keynote Speakers, experts in the field of virtual and global collaboration. You are also invited to celebrate together the middle of the competition by joining the Midnight Toast session streamed live.

Step 6: Post-case video

After the Live Event the teams have two weeks to prepare a post-case study video. The video is about your team’s GeCCo Journey and is compulsory for all the teams to be eligible to win the competition.

Step 7: Award Ceremony

The Award Ceremony will take place on 15 April, 2023. During the ceremony a closing keynote speech will be given and the winners of the competition will be announced. In addition to three best performing teams selected by the Jury Committee, the GeCCo Core Team awards  winners of the contests (e.g. the most active social media team) and the best Local Organizers.
