Martina will engage you in a conversation about your career as a project manager. Is your career sustainable? With sustainable we mean: Does your career make you happy? Is it productive? Does it keep you healthy? We will discuss whether balancing these three dimensions is possible and how to do it. We will share first research results on project careers and investigate with you what motivates young professionals to engage and pursue a project career.

Martina Huemann is Professor at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business where she heads the Project Management Group in the Department Strategy and Innovation and is the Academic Director of the Professional MBA Program: Project Management. She has published widely in the fields of Human Resource Management and Project Management. For her Research on Human Resource management in Project-oriented Organisations, she received the IPMA Research Award 2015. Martina Huemann has 20 years of experience in research, teaching and consulting.

Martina Huemann has strong links in the research and practice communities, and a broad international network. In Austria she is board member of Projekt Management Austria. Since 2018 she has been Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Project Management, the leading journal in project management, and since 2020 she has been Founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal Project Leadership and Society. She is founder and facilitator of enable2change a network of independent experts to translate strategy into action. In her work she applies co-creation process and bridges research and practice.
