How to overcome challenges in projects – an experience report
Sunday, May 30 at 12:50 pm – 1:20 pm CEST

There are many theories, techniques and approaches on how to overcome challenges in projects. Stakeholder, time and conflict management, among others, play a major role. This keynote is a personal experience report from a young project manager who is committed to innovation and new technologies (aimed at supporting people in their daily tasks), both in research and in practice, while managing and performing many tasks at the same time.

To stay with the topic of resourcefulness, Sara talks about her experiences and shares some challenges she has faced as project manager and how she did overcome them. For instance, how to handle misunderstandings in communication to differing views on the project goal that make collaboration nearly impossible. In her presentation, she introduces specific techniques that have helped her overcome such challenges in projects. These may not always be techniques from the textbook, but customized methods derived from it. She further explains how she manages to stay on top of things despite the large workload and variety of tasks. She provides insights into how she succeeds in completing the various tasks and meeting the demands.
