Resilience – an important competence for self-reflection and self-management

The speech will cover the definition of resilience in business management and why resilience is important nowadays. We will look at the factors that create drain for resilience at work, and the different sources from where you can get and build up your resilience. Finally, we will execute a little resilience exercise together.

Dr. Yvonne Schoper is Professor for International Project Management at HTW University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, Germany.

Yvonne Schoper holds a B.Sc. in Engineering Management, a M.Sc. in International Business and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Cranfield University (UK).

She worked for 12 years as project manager for BMW where she was responsible for several international car development projects in Germany and in the USA.

She is associate professor at Tongji University in Shanghai, at Reykjavik University in Iceland and at Monterrey TEC in Mexico.

Her research interests are the projectification of economies and the impact on societies, intercultural project management, and women in project management.

She is member of the Presidential Advisory Board of GPM German Association for Project Management and since 2021 Vice President Membership and Young Crew of IPMA.
