Winner of Latnet International Project Management Championship 2018 – Peru

Students Brajan Nieto, Leonardo Miranda, Jesus Chuco, Nicol Poma, National University of Engineering (UNI) from Peru achieved the first place at the Latnet International Project Management Championship 2018.

The final of the first Latnet International Project Management Championship 2018, gathered students from prestigious faculties and business schools in LATNET, was held on August 24-26, 2018, inViña del Mar, Chile.

The first day of competition the teams were welcome in the Engineering Faculty, UNAB  by the Project Team, the Industrial Engineering Director, Alejandro Cordova and enjoyed a great talk about the present and future of project management and the career path for Young Project Managers, by IPMA President, Jesus Martinez-Almela.  In the night the participating team met each other in a Welcome Drink and a cocktail.

The next day, the winners from Chile, México and Peru competed in the Latnet final and demonstrated their knowledge and skills in project management,  through an exhausted competition based on IPMA Competences, provided by Yuri Kogan from IPMA Costa Rica.

The winners were announced during the Gala dinner at the Hotel Best Western Marina del Rey, Viña del Mar. By the decision of the jury, based on the number of points gained during the different stages competition, the winners were declared, and the team from Peru was awarded the first place, the trophy, and the next year competition goes to Peru.

The second place was awarded to the Team Chile (Valentina Vega, Catalina Caroca, Franco Muñoz, Giann Franco Lotito from Universidad Andres Bello (UNAB))

The third place was awarded to the Team México (Beatriz Hernandez, Yulisa Salas, Adolfo Gomez, Fernando Hernandez from Universidad Tecnológica de la Zona Metropolitana del Valle de México (UTVAM)).

The last day, the participants visited Valparaiso and enjoyed its unique architecture, history and landscapes. Valparaíso is known as the “pearl of the Pacific” and its vineyard garden (Viña Del Mar), a unique binomial sites and cultural heritage of Humanity.
