Amila has been given the responsibility to lead mission critical projects at Sri Lanka Telecom Mobitel from very early stage of his career due to his innate ability to execute complex tasks quickly, innovatively and economically. He was pioneered in introducing Cell-On-Wheels to Sri Lankan telecommunication market reducing site implementation time by 90%. In 2012, he was chosen as the PM for Mobitel Stage VII Network Expansion Project which was the largest single network investment in Sri Lankan telecommunication history. Mobitel Stage VII was a tremendous success which completed 35 days in advance while being spot on with cost and quality. Mobitel stage VII has been the subject of several local and international awards to date for its excellence in application of project management knowledge and best practices.
